Counsellor and client in a warm, supportive session
Individual Counselling

Individual Counselling

Individual counselling provides a dedicated, confidential space where you can explore whatever is weighing on you — free from judgment and at your own pace.

Using an integrative, person-centred approach, I tailor each session to your unique needs. Whether you’re working through a specific challenge or simply seeking greater self-understanding, we will move at a pace that feels right for you. Sessions are typically 50 minutes and can be held weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

This may help with:

  • Building self-awareness and emotional regulation skills
  • Improving confidence and self-esteem
  • Processing difficult emotions or past experiences
  • Setting and working toward meaningful personal goals

Anxiety & Stress Management

Anxiety & Stress Management

Anxiety is one of the most common challenges people face — and one of the most treatable. Together we will move you from survival mode to a place of sustainable calm.

Using evidence-based approaches including CBT, mindfulness, and somatic techniques, I help you understand the root of your anxiety, challenge the thought patterns that fuel it, and develop a personalised toolkit of coping strategies. Whether you experience generalised anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, or stress related to work or relationships, help is available.

This may help with:

  • Reducing worry, overthinking, and rumination
  • Managing panic attacks and physical symptoms of anxiety
  • Building confidence in social and professional situations
  • Creating healthy stress-management routines

Depression & Mood Support

Depression & Mood Support

Depression is not a character flaw or a sign of weakness. It is a medical condition that responds well to the right support. You do not have to white-knuckle your way through this alone.

In our work together, I will help you understand the factors contributing to your depression, gently challenge the negative thought cycles that keep you stuck, and re-engage with activities and relationships that once brought meaning. I integrate CBT, behavioural activation, and mindfulness-based approaches, always tailored to where you are right now.

This may help with:

  • Breaking the cycle of low mood and withdrawal
  • Rebuilding motivation, energy, and daily structure
  • Challenging negative self-talk and core beliefs
  • Reconnecting with purpose and what matters most to you

Life Transitions

Life Transitions

Change — even positive change — can be profoundly disorienting. When the ground shifts beneath our feet, having a steady, skilled companion makes all the difference.

Whether you are navigating a relationship breakdown, career change, relocation, empty nesting, retirement, or a shift in identity, I provide a thoughtful space to process the losses and uncertainties, clarify your values, and move forward with renewed intention. Life transitions often hold the seeds of profound growth — I help you access that potential.

This may help with:

  • Processing the grief that often accompanies major change
  • Clarifying values and priorities for the next chapter
  • Building resilience and adaptability
  • Cultivating a hopeful and grounded vision for the future

Grief & Loss

Grief & Loss

Grief is not a problem to be solved — it is a profound testament to love. I offer a gentle, honouring space to sit with your loss and find your way through, at your own pace.

Grief takes many forms beyond the death of a loved one: the end of a relationship, losing a sense of identity, a miscarriage, estrangement, or the loss of the life you had imagined. I draw on narrative therapy and compassion-focused approaches to help you integrate your loss — not "get over it," but carry it forward in a way that honours what you’ve loved.

This may help with:

  • Processing complicated or prolonged grief
  • Making sense of loss within your own values and beliefs
  • Maintaining connection to lost loved ones in healthy ways
  • Rebuilding a sense of meaning and future after loss

Teen & Youth Counselling

Teen & Youth Counselling

The teenage years and early adulthood are some of the most complex — and important — years of a person’s life. Young people deserve a skilled, non-judgemental ally in their corner.

I specialise in working with teens and young adults (ages 13–25), offering a relaxed, relatable space where young people feel genuinely heard — not lectured. Together we explore what’s going on, build coping skills, and strengthen their sense of identity, belonging, and self-worth. Parents are involved only with the young person’s consent, and I regularly discuss expectations collaboratively from the start.

This may help with:

  • Navigating peer pressure, social anxiety, and school stress
  • Exploring identity, sexuality, and relationships
  • Managing big emotions and mood swings
  • Building confidence, boundaries, and self-esteem

Questions & Answers

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does each counselling session last?

Individual sessions are typically 50 minutes. Initial intake sessions may run slightly longer (up to 75 minutes) to give us adequate time to explore your background, goals, and expectations. Session length can occasionally be extended by arrangement if needed.

How many sessions will I need?

This varies considerably from person to person. Some clients find that 6–10 sessions provide the support they need, while others benefit from longer-term work. We will review and discuss your progress regularly and work on a timeline that feels right for you. There is no pressure to commit to a particular number upfront.

Do you offer online/virtual sessions?

Yes — I offer secure video sessions to clients anywhere in British Columbia. Online counselling has been shown to be equally effective as in-person sessions for most concerns. All you need is a private space and a stable internet connection. I use a PIPEDA-compliant, encrypted platform to protect your privacy.

Is counselling covered by insurance or benefits?

Many extended health benefit plans cover services provided by a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC). I recommend checking your plan details directly with your insurer, as coverage varies. I provide official receipts for all sessions that you can submit to your insurer. I am not currently a direct-biller.

What is your cancellation policy?

I ask for at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice (outside of genuine emergencies) may be subject to a late-cancellation fee. I always aim to apply this policy with compassion and common sense.

You’re Not Alone

Not Sure Which Service Is Right for You?

That’s completely okay — most people aren’t sure when they begin. Book a free 15-minute consultation and we’ll figure it out together.
